World Series

We have reached the end of the baseball season with the St Louis Cardinals winning the world series. What an outstanding achievement for this ball club. David Freese who hit .348 average, 1 home run and seven runs batted in. He was the MVP of the series. Game 6 in my mind proved St Louis were destined to win the world series. The rangers were one strike away in game six not once but twice from winning the World Series. Freese came up clutch in the ninth inning of that game to tie it at 7-7. . Rangers scored two runs in the top of the 10th off a Josh Hamilton home run. Then Lance Berkman tied the game in the bottom of the 10th. Then in the bottom of the 11th MVP David Freese said sorry bout it to the rangers and forced a game seven with a solo home run. St Louis won game 7, 6-2. In my mind this was one of the most impressive teams in baseball history. If the Phillies do not sweep the Braves the last three games of the season St Louis never would have earned the wild card. they were ten and a half games back in the wild card on September second and our now World champions. This is a remarkable under dog story and all credit is due to Tony laRussa. He in my mind deserves manager of the year. To be able to work with so much adversity this season and still win a world serious is a true story of what champions do. Sad to see the season end, but looking forward to the off season trades and the Yankees to be the 2012 World champions.

Sports and social media anti strategy

The reason for this post is to talk about Carson Palmer the former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback. He was recently traded to the Oakland Raiders. Palmer has not played all year and we have heard very little about him this year. We knew that he was under contract still with the Bengals at the start of this year, and wanted out and the Bengals would not trade him, hence why Andy Dalton is the starting QB, and why they drafted him. With Palmer being benched and now traded to the Raiders brings more talk in the sports world. The point of this blog is to talk about Palmer's anti strategy. Think about it, we have not heard a thing about him this entire year. Now we hear he is traded just like that, when the Bengals said they would not trade Palmer. Oakland did give up a big payoff with a potential first round draft choice. With Palmer not having a Twitter account, or being in the limelight, did this strategy end up getting him where he is now? Think about it he stays away from potential stories and rumors, he was able to sit back and not let social media tools obtain him from playing. I do believe that by having the anti social media strategy was an impact to creating a deal so quietly and under the radar without rumors or anything, until the day he signed, which was only Monday.

Failure with Technology

I was trying to cover the Vikings and bears game tonight on cover it live, but could not link it to my blog page. I am not that great with computers yet but still learning. Looking forward to streaming my first live event for the Jets and Dolphins game for Monday Night football now. On another note how about the Texas Rangers this post season. Nelson Cruz had 6 homeruns and 13 RBI for the ALCS. That is an MVP for you. I love post season baseball and being so close to Dallas it is fun to see the Rangers go back to back to the world series. Hopefully I can catch a live game in Arlington. Follow my live blog tomorrow night for the Chalker sports freak version of Monday Night Football!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yankees part 2

I needed the weekend to cool off after the loss to Detroit in Game 5 of the ALDS. I needed to cool off because I had many things that I would have said about the Yankees out of spite and emotion. I have had time to analyze the game and asess each situation. Yes Nova started off the game with back to back homeruns to Young and, Kelly. After that their was only one more run and it came from C.C Sabathia giving up a hit to Victor Martinez to score that run. How does a team as good as the Yankees not produce with loaded bases not once in the game but twice, and have nothing positive to show from it. The seventh inning of the game was the turning point. When Alex Rodriguez came up to bat with one out and loaded bases in the bottom of the seventh I thought it was gonna be game over. It was just for the Yankees because A-rod struck out to lose all hope. Texeria walked and that left Swisher to make something else of the inning, but he struck out too. I give all the credit to the tigers pitching staff. They got it done. However A-Rod has a lifetime batting average of .277 in the Playoffs but  this series he hit .111. I am not saying I could do better, but he should be able to. How are you Mr. baseball and Mr. Anti clutch at the same time. The best way i can put it is that A-rod must drive an automatic because he obviously can not handle the clutch. The season is not to blame because of Rodriguez, but my point is in 2012 do you want to have him as your 3rd baseman and waste that money to another post season destruction. Or do what the yankees do best and buy some other talented third baseman. As a yankee fan my dream would be to get rid of A-rod, and sign Hanley Ramirez from the Marlins. Within doing this I would move Jeter to 2nd base and move my favourite player, Robinson Cano to 3rd. With Texeria at 1st base that is your world series winning teram. If A-rod stays with the team, which he probably will, I hope he uses this off season to heal his injuries and get his head right and become clutch like he did in 2009, when they one the world series.

Yankees

The New York Yankees are proving what Champions do when it needs to be done. A.J Burnett stepped up big last night throwing for 5 2/3. It was shakey in the first inning when AJ had the bases loaded with two outs, but MVP caliber season man Curtis Granderson came up clutch with a catch over his head to keep the game tied in the first inning. The hitters produced when needed and it was a great 10-1 victory to force a game five and keep a world series victory in site. Brett Gardener has been the man that is the difference in this line up from what I have obsereved so far. The past 2 nights he has got a hit when needed and is a key player to their offense. The Yankees Twitter account @Yankees had a tweet from Burnett saying, "Burnett: "Once that first inning was over after Curtis saved me, I was able to take a breath, and then our offense took over." People have been congradulating the Yankees all over their twitter sites and media outlets. Keep up the good press Yankees and A-Rod will come through big time in game five and the rest of this post season. We all know the best hitter on that line up is Robinson Cano, in my mind the prettiest swing in Major League baseball.
